The Georgina Hope Swimmers Foundation Youth Performance Squad (YPS) is an exciting initiative designed to reward swimmers aged 13-18 for their performances in the pool. The YPS is an extension of the Junior Excellence program which recognises and rewards 9-13 year olds. Similar to Junior Excellence, YPS rewards swimmers for achieving particular time standards set by Swimming Australia. The qualifying period for the 2012/13 YPS has been extended by two days to 15 April 2013. This is to ensure that Multi Class swimmers at Age have the opportunity to qualify for the program. Click here for a link to the Swimming Australia website to view a listing of all swimmers who have achieved the Youth Performance Squad standards.

Swimmers who achieve a JX award are invited along to the Junior Excellence Forum. The JX Forum is an educational and inspirational workshop especially designed for JX swimmers. Topics cover the pathway for junior swimmers, nutrition, health, exercise and stroke development. We also invite elite athletes along as guest speakers to share their experiences with the swimmers.
The 2013 Forum will be held on the 8th September 2013, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Athletes who achieved either the Gold or Gold Star Award are invited to attend the pool session following the Forum. Please note there are limited places available for the pool sessions.
As a recipient of the YPS award for the 2011-12 season, athletes are invited to attend a YPS Swim Clinic. There will be 4 clinics held over the 4th August and the 20th October 2012. Clinics will run from 10:00am–12:00pm and 12:30pm–2:30pm on both days.
The clinic will be coached by Swimming Australia’s Age Group Coach of the Year 2011, Craig Jackson! This is a great opportunity to improve your skills and receive feedback
Click HERE to register. Please note that places are limited to the first 100 athletes (25 athletes per session).
These ribbons allow all competitors to be recognised and rewarded for competing, rather than focusing on winning. Ribbons have been produced in various colours to avoid duplication at neighbouring competitions. This will hopefully allow swimmers in certain areas to receive different colours on consecutive weeks.
