Coaching Accreditation

Swimming Victoria is responsible for the delivery of accredited swimming coaching courses throughout Victoria. Bronze Accreditation Courses are run approximately 3 times a year, while the Silver Accreditation Course is run every second year. For more information on National Coach Accreditation click here to visit Swimming Australia's website. For a list of course dates and enrolment forms visit the Swimming Victoria home page, see the Sport Development Calendar and select the course you are interested in!

Working With Children Check

All Coaches must have a Working With Children Check (WWCC) to gain their accreditation.

The WWCC creates a mandatory minimum checking standard across Victoria. The WWCC helps to keep children safe by preventing those who pose a risk to the safety of children from working with them, in either paid or volunteer work.

Your WWCC will expire every 5 years. Please make sure your details are up to date so you know when to renew by visiting https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/wwccu

2013 Women in Swimming Rural Coaching Scholarship

The Women in Swimming Rural Coaching Scholarship (WSRCS) is a partnership between Swimming Australia Ltd (SAL) and the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) aimed at providing quality opportunities to women and increasing the number of female coaches in Australia.

WSRCS will target individuals who might not otherwise be able to access high quality coaching education from rural or remote communities. WSRCS will provide candidates with:

  • Opportunity to access high quality coach education
  • Opportunity to attend the asctaCONVENTION 2013
  • Opportunity to attain a nationally recognised coaching accreditation

In a broader sense the scholarship will benefit swimming communities by providing coaches who are suitably qualified to service swimming members.
