Swimming Victoria host a range of annual events The swimming season commences 1 May and concludes 30 April each year. The swimming calendar is divided into two seasons, with the majority of our members contuing to train and compete throughout both the long and short course seasons. Long course events are held in a 50m pool and short course events are held in the 25m format. The short course season runs throughout winter, culminating in the Victorian Short Course Championships. The long course commences shortly afterwards with our major events, the Victorian Championships and the Victorian Country Championships, held in January. The Victorian Age sprint Championships are held in February. Swimmers require qualifying times for all Championship meets and compete throughout the year to achieve times at "approved meets." The All Junior elimination meets are staged by the districts, with the semi-finals and finals, hosted by Swimming Victoria towards the end of the season. The All Junior competition is a sprint format for ages eight/under to fourteen.
